[su_dropcap style=”flat”]M[/su_dropcap]odesty is a word that doesn’t quite suit this cool bloke. Filled with tremendous energy that conveniently fills that space for all day banter and provides necessary support to cushion that restless walk that seems to be constantly on the lookout for the minute details one can extract from the surrounding ambiance, Amanpreet Banga’s story breaks the conventional and traditional norms we have come to associate with success.

From growing up in a less than fancy family background in Yamuna Nagar, Haryana to speaking with Frenchmen in France in a French dialect that seems to have emerged from the French speaking side of the Seine to giving expert lectures on Shopping Malls at renowned Management Institutes spread across the country to giving a whole new look to the difficult art of retail selling in the competitive domain of Food and Beverage (F&B) to giving friends and family tons of Gyaan on the ever luscious single malt whiskey, 29 year old Amanpreet has quite literally been there, done that and he still thinks he has miles to go.

The Young Robust Sardar From Yamuna Nagar

amanpreetIn the highly disoriented cultural milieu of India where we sadly base most of our jokes and skirmish on Sikhs and south Indians hailing from either Kerala, Tamil Nadu or whichever part or regional Diaspora of the country that can be mocked, Amanpreet’s evolution in his line of professional expertise breaks the bias that surrounds our meaningless jokes on Sardar ji’s. In a life where he could have simply reduced his not-so-worldly existence in the hinterland at Haryana, his birthplace, by consuming endless servings of butter chicken, this young, honest, ardent and upright man set out on a journey from which quitting wasn’t the conventional choice, success would be the ultimate station and recognition coupled with a passion to learn something new every day would become his underlining story marked by absolute dedication and heartfelt efforts. Aman, as is fondly called, works in the professional capacity of a senior manager at the renowned DLF group, concerned with the challenging and vastly popular retail leasing division at the giant group’s swanky Gurgaon office. With a support team that is marked by senior managers and group heads in charge on the much loved and celebrated Cyber- Hub, DLF’s vastly popular serving to a Gurgaon always hungry for change and a craving for the dynamic, Amanpreet is the one man army who crusades in a never ending quest to align just the right kind of restaurants, pubs, start up places and other sprawling entries into the buzzing one stop shop destination of food and beverage.

Relentless Hard Work – Amanpreet’s Weapon Of Success

But, he hasn’t made it this far so easily. There is an interesting body of work that this humble son of the soil, as he likes to call himself, has put to emerge with a lovely resume, whose expanse covers renowned professional stints with some real estate giants such as French company SEGECE, Cushman & Wakefield and Knight Frank before landing himself a hugely challenging but fascinating break at the renowned DLF group. In a professional career where the young bloke made himself responsible for his own education, taking upon himself the responsibility to fend for his education cost in an outright selfless goal so as to not burden his father already ably providing for a giant family at Yamuna Nagar, this scholarly bloke broke into the popular Birla Institute of Management and Technology and then to the ROUEN Business School at France. Aman taught himself how to speak in French during his Management course at France. It wasn’t too easy but he’s never resorted to backing out from challenges. When he returned to his beloved Swades, a dynamic career was in the offing, one that required constant surge of hard-work and dedication, from which the youngster never backed out.

Aman’s life is a testimony to the reminder that with a zest to learn and follow ones heart, nothing is impossible. In a world largely falling mindlessly to the trap of doing something out of the ordinary while there are endless opportunities available in parallel to the conventional medical, legal or engineering frameworks, there are a number of cases where the youth, in its propulsion toward creative outfits, fails miserably in sustaining their professional chassis. Amanpreet who had almost no professional guidance nor any god-fatherly figure to guide him toward shores of professional calling relied on a practical and highly receptive frame of mind.

Whilst he was finishing with his post graduation and already well settled in the bustling cosmopolis of New Delhi, Aman resorted to a simple but an unconventional norm of leading his life. During the day he would be seen engulfed with lofty text books and during the evenings, he would jump onto the bullet bike, the proud possession of the man, to ride away till late after mid nights in a surge to understand the popular trend encapsulating an entire city: the ever growing number and range of restaurants around Delhi NCR. On weekends, he would be with friends, but would frantically search the net looking for information on new restaurants and theme based eating outfits surfacing a renewed interest among passionate food lovers in the ever palatable Delhi. He would soon, unwittingly discover that what started as a harmless fascination for discovering emerging trends of restaurants would give me a carpet of stable career walking: F&B industry.

Hunger For Useful Information

Effortlessly cementing a name for himself with all round scholastic success at his post graduation course, Amanpreet now had fancied a new found love in life. He began to write professional, authentic research based articles that encircled the nuances of shopping malls in India, another astonishingly successful part of modern India’s cultural and economic growth. He would soon go on to submit thesis and research papers on the critical aforementioned subject and gets invited as a guest lecturer to talk of consumer behavior amidst the growing fanfare of consumer shopping malls. But, Aman’s original love continued to be the ever expanding foray of F&B market. He would soon cut out a professional resume that was based on those endless nights and visitations that were central to his exploration of Delhi’s cultural scene replete with food and dining experiences and based on an endless surge of the city to look for fine dining restaurants. In fact, so distinct was Aman’s quest to find himself a career central to his passion that he discounted the idea of being a restaurateur and went into retail leasing- a field that not only substantiated his quest to align with the bludgeoning new found fancy cult of city life- an outdoor eating experience but served his knowledge-hungry palette with endless interactions with some of the luminaries from the F&B business space.

A vast understanding of malls backed by the trends and emerging patters skillfully matched with an awareness as to what the public at large wishes, rather craves to consume would fetch rich rewards to young Aman in his hungry pursuit to garner momentum in his chosen domain. Today, he also professionally manages from DLF’s stable the food courts in all of DLF malls and the City Centre Mall at Chandigarh.

A Man Simple At Heart

With passion, simplicity and a positive outlook, Aman holds true to the belief that we can make the world our own. At times, as a fellow youngster one can be completely caught up in a fancy world with the simple instance of walking alongside Amanpreet Singh Banga at DLF’s Cyber Hub: a cavalcade of rich and multifarious culinary delights. Almost all restaurant and dining and pub staff offer a convincing and hugely uplifting salute and at times, extend more than a warm handshake to this energetic young boy. That he is from the eminent DLF leasing cauldron isn’t the reason for this grateful salutation but the fact that Aman instantly greets the restaurant manager with the same regard and affection with which he gives a warm hug to the janitor or the doorman in every restaurant is symbolic to the humility and human touch that this smart professional has charted in his memorable journey.

At times it is funny to think of just all that, that this Royal Enfield fan has accumulated with rich passion in such a less amount of time. Apart from the constantly buzzing phone that brings up a warm request every now and again from the other side of the table looking to get Aman and his team’s acceptance to open a new restaurant space at the buzzing DLF Cyber Hub, there is a huge challenge that awaits Aman every other night: the quest to find a new party spot in the city that refuses to bow down from offering varied offerings.
