A box packaging machine is used when a package needs to be secured for loading, travel, transport usually using pallet wrap, so the box does not come apart, and all the content stays safely inside it. A box packing machine packs the box by strapping or wrapping it up with straps or a layer of the film so that the package is sealed and will not fall apart during delivery or loading. It’s also a great idea to install pallet racking to create a more efficient storing and delivery flow.
Strapping machine
You can package your box using two packing machines. The first is a strapping machine. A strapping machine is perfect if you want to secure a larger package. Strapping machines will give your package that extra reinforcement that it needs. It just adds an extra level of security so that your package does not fall apart or open before it has been delivered. A hand strapping machine can also be used, but an automated strapped machine will make your life much easier.
What it does
The machine will cut, wrap and seal your package, and do this effectively and efficiently. An automated box packing machine takes up to 10 seconds to pack one box, which means it is much faster than packing boxes manually. They also work hands-free and are turned on and off through the use of a pedal. The machine will guarantee the seal holds and does not fall through. Manually strapping packages takes much longer than any automated strapping machine, which can increase the output of your factory or outlet.
Automated vs. basic
Automated strapping machines to package boxes can vary on their size, price, quality, and efficiency level. The more basic strapping machines will require you to wrap the straps around the package that must be secured and put one end of the straps into the machine. However, this is not necessary for fully automated strapping machines.
How to use an automated strapping machine
The first thing you want to do is turn the machine on and allow it to heat up. If your strapping machine is semi-automated, wrap the straps around the package and insert one end into the strapping machine. If it is fully automated, skip this step.
Next, make sure you properly position the straps. The number of straps required depends on the size of the package. Next, press on the foot pedal and allow the machine to do its work. If the box needs an additional strap, position the box properly and press on the foot pedal again to apply an additional strap to the package.
The box packer can secure your package in more ways than one. After the first few straps are applied to the box, rotate the box to apply straps perpendicular to the ones you already have applied.
Stretch film machines
The second packing machine option is stretch film machines. Stretch film machines are good for packing whole pallets of products. They will help you speed your operation up greatly. Goods are dropped onto the base, and this machine automatically can wrap up these goods in seconds. The speed at which these machines work varies.
Entry-level machines are available and industrial machines, which can be programmed to suit your production schedule. Box packaging machines are typically used by individuals or companies that need to ship large quantities of goods. Stretch film machines are good for this, as they secure goods well and can do it in a matter of seconds.
Containment force
The containment force is the pull on the film, on the top of the package or pallet. This pull defines how strong the film feels and how strongly it will wrap around and secure the package.
Machine stretch film
It is as important to choose the correct film for the job as it chooses the actual machine that will carry out this job. You need to decide between two options: the first being the standard un-stretched film and the second being the pre-stretched film.
The un-stretched film is used for power pre-stretch machines, and the pre-stretched films are used for core brake machines. It is also important to choose the correct gauge of stretch film. It is not smart to buy the cheapest film that you can find, which may cost you more in the long run. Rather, invest in a better quality film that wraps and runs better. It will also protect your product better as it is transported around.
Film threading
It is important to check if your film is threaded properly between the rollers. Consult with the manual. It should have a diagram of how the film is supposed to look like between the rollers. Check this, and do exactly how it shows, so you do not end up wrecking your machine or making the load fall over.
How to use a stretch film machine
When you start your machine, make sure you start it at the wrap arm speed. Once it is running, you can then increase the speed to whatever suits your pallet. If you start too fast, you may end up restacking loads of products that have fallen over.
After this, set the top and the bottom wrap counts. At the top of the load, place the film overwrap and adjust it. Adjust the speed of the film delivery system too. It is a good idea to read the manual before you start playing around with the machine. An estimated 6 inches of overlap for the film bands should be good unless the manual says otherwise.
Adjusting the wrap force
The last step would be to adjust the wrap force. Again, you must do this without breaking any of the film or the load.
Box packaging machines usually require large initial investments, but they are more efficient, effective, and time-saving. You must pay attention to the sizes of the boxes that need to be wrapped and how much load you have. According to that, decide whether you want to switch to box packaging machines or not, and if yes, then which type. The correct strapping machine for your product can make sure your product stays secure in just a matter of seconds!
