An irrigation pump is an essential accessory for anyone interested in growing crops. It doesn’t matter if you’re a small-scale farmer or have a huge amount of land. As the summer heats up, you need to ensure your crops get enough water and nutrients.

Lack Of Water

Any pump that runs without water in it is at risk of drying out. This affects the bearings and can cause them to collapse. At the very least you’ll be shortening the life of the pump. You may even cause pump failure.

It can happen when the water level is low or when the filters get blocked. This is much less likely with a traveling irrigator.

Power Issues

Irrigation systems are often the last point on an electrical supply. This means they are the most likely to suffer a power drop when everyone else is using the electricity. This can be annoying and can damage your pump. The voltage drop causes an amp increase which can damage the pump, eventually causing it to fail because of the low voltage.

Traveling irrigators are less likely to suffer from this issue and can be powered off-grid.

Design

A system that works perfectly in one scenario may struggle to provide the water needed in a different scenario. This is because farmland has a huge number of variables. In short, you need to assess the needs and design a system for each potential application. If you don’t the pump will be under excess stress and is likely to fail.

Of course, designing multiple systems is time-consuming and it will be costly to create several different systems.

An incorrect system will cause the failure of its components as it struggles to keep up with the demands being placed on it.

Again, the traveling irrigation system doesn’t struggle with this issue. It can be connected to any water supply and will provide water for a field of plants.

In fact, the traveling irrigation system is not just more reliable and versatile, it’s likely to be more affordable and practical. If you haven’t invested in a traveling irrigation system, it’s time you started looking.
