You will have to write a lot of essays through your pursuit of education. It is indispensable that you are proficient with essay paper structure or otherwise you considered to pay someone to do assignment. It is a brief guide explaining the structure of a typical essay, showing you the main aspects that any essay paper is based on. We will cover a basic 5 paragraph essay that is common for high school. Keep in mind that the structure stays the same but the length of paragraphs gets longer in college or university.

Think of the essay as an interesting debate. You cannot win debates by simply saying that you are right. Everyone expects you to prove the point, to make a clear and logical story about why you are right, what proofs you have, and make sure to create this story as solid as rock.

A good essay paper starts with a plan. It is a logical flow of arguments or points you need to cover. Starting an essay without a plan is the biggest mistake any student can make.

When you are working on an essay paper, every word should contribute to the integrity and logic of the topic. Every sentence matters. However, an introduction is the first part, and it is as important as the first impression you want to make on the person you like. The introduction can be done right, and then it will be well-made, striking and the one that awakens anticipation of the text or it can be average. The introduction should be powerful.

An introduction helps the reader understand what the essay is going to be about and leads to your general opinion on the given issue. You need to restate the topic and mention a few main arguments or points you will dig deeper into later on. A brief mentioning of generalized points of your future arguments will be enough, don’t go into explaining each point in the introduction.

A thesis statement is one sentence that claims your point and where you stand at. It should provide information or make another person understand your point of view. Take into account that later on, you will be backing your thesis statement with details and proofs.

The next part of the structure is the body.

Its length depends on the number of arguments covering your thesis. Every argument or point equals one paragraph. The paragraphs also have a structure. The first sentence of every paragraph should firmly introduce the point you want to highlight. The rest of the explanation and deeper details should be in the remaining part of the paragraph.

Here come the logical explanation and argumentation backed by references, quotes, and reputable resources. Keep in mind that you don’t have to list and recite the resources. If you are dealing with an opinion essay, you need to say in your own words your mind on a certain matter and use a resource as an example of amplification to your point.

This way you will have a thesis statement and several points supporting it, separated in every paragraph. Every point is backed by reputable resources and explained in detail.

The final part.

The conclusion is an important element of any essay paper. It gives the reader a chance to recap the main idea of what was written earlier and restate your point or thesis one more time, showing how eloquent and skilled in synonyms you are.

Conclusions usually state balanced consideration, sum up, or restate your opinion.

It is important to remember that the conclusion paragraph must not involve any new ideas. You are only reiterating the ones stated earlier in another way or from a slightly different perspective. Try to mention your key reasoning one more time to prove to the reader that you’ve thoroughly researched and covered the topic.

Any essay paper is written according to the outline described above. Essays can be of many types, but you need to start by drafting a quick plan anyway. If you need to write a long essay paper you can easily get lost in your thoughts and arguments if you don’t maintain an outline.

A perfect essay should be informative, logical, evoke emotions or sympathy in a reader that you appeal to, and be credible, meaning based on worthy resources.

The main essay types are for-and-against, opinion, expository, and solution/problem essay.

For and against essay includes at least 3 sections: introduction (without stating your opinion, just stating the topic and what you are going to look into), main body discussion of pros and cons with justification and examples to each point. In the final part, you can claim your own opinion after you’ve summed up the points written earlier.

In opinion essays, you introduce the topic and your opinion in the thesis statement. Use the main body to contemplate on arguments supporting your ideas. In conclusion, restate the thesis in other words.

Expository essay is all about research. You state the topic in the introduction, providing background and leading to thesis. The main part supports thesis with an excessive amount of research, references and credible sources. To conclude, draw a summary of your arguments and repeat the thesis. If your opinion was asked for in the assignment, you should present it here, otherwise, no need to include it.

For problem/solution essay paper you need to highlight the problem in the introduction. In the main body you should provide the ways to tackle the issue backed by credible sources. In the conclusion, feel free to state your opinion on the problem.

Writing an essay paper can become a real challenge, but if you have a structure and a plan, you have half of the job done. Good luck!
