Microsoft’s new CEO is in the news, and he is none other than Satya Nadella, an Indian born techie who has been with Microsoft for the last 22 years. Prior to taking the reins of Microsoft from Steve Ballmer, Nadella was the executive vice president of the company’s Cloud and Enterprise group. He is the third CEO of the software giant founded by Bill Gates.
Born in Hyderabad, India, Satya Nadella attained Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communication from the prestigious Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal. He is also an MS in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a continuous learner and he believes if you are not learning new things, you stop doing great and useful things. So family, curiosity and hunger for knowledge is all that defines him.
He said he is honored and humbled at this new development, and excited at the same time for the opportunities that lay ahead of Microsoft. “Many companies aspire to change the world. But very few have all the elements required: talent, resources and perseverance. Microsoft has proven that it has all three in abundance“, he says.
