Train travels can get hectic at times. They are not always the most luxurious mode of transportation. On the top of all, things like staying wide awake to get down from the train at their arrival destinations are a great issue for every passenger.

Thankfully, there’s good news. From now onwards the passengers do not have to worry about waking up at arrival time by themselves anymore. Its because the Indian railways has initiated a great facility of giving a ‘wake-up call’ for the passengers who are traveling a long distance.

Wake-Up Call By Indian Railways

With this facility, passengers will now be notified before arriving at their destination by the Indian Railways. They can sleep peacefully without the stress of thinking about when to wake up and get off the train. This ‘wake-up call’ will alert the long-distance passengers 20 minutes prior to arriving at the station.

Earlier, this is a huge concern for passengers travelling at night and now they do not have to worry about missing the station anymore.

The passengers can presently use this facility from 11 P, to 7 AM.

How To Avail This Facility?

If you want to be alerted by the IRCTC about 20 minutes before your arrival destination, then follow these steps. The process is pretty simple and will cost you only ₹3.

First you have to call the IRCTC helpline number 139 on your phone. Next, you need to select the language to proceed with the entire process. Then you have to choose the numbers for the wake-up call facility. Then you have to enter the 10-digit PNR number. The last step of the process is confirming it by pressing 1. And you’re done.
