With Christmas knocking on the door, this cool mother from Texas was having a hard time finding a Santa, who wasn’t white so that her children can relate with him.
A psychiatrist by profession in Dallas, Jihan Woods wanted to find Santa of color and was struggling for years before she founded an app called Black Santa. This smart app now identifies places, which host Santas of different ethnicities.
Last year in October 2018, Woods launched a campaign so that she could fund the development of the “Find Black Santa” application. As a result, she raised more than US$5,000 in 30 days due to the campaign and this helped her to develop the locator to enable non-white families to find a Santa so that they will be able to relate to, mentioned a Global News report.
All this mother wanted to do is to present before kids the positive images of people of color and this she mentioned in the campaign description. Not just that, this strong woman has also come up with services like Santas-for-hire, black Santa photo opp, community events and resident mall Santas in cities across the United States.
On Twitter, netizens are also posting images of black Santa and you should definitely browse through these:

Had a grad party this weekend to celebrate Hubs and asked friends to bring an ornament for our tree. It wasn’t a contest, but #blacksanta was hands down the winner. pic.twitter.com/geBGl7cUd5
