Amaro Porano Jaha Chaye.. Tumi Tayi.. Tumi Tayi Go. (You are my heart’s true desire) – Rabindranath Tagore

Immersed already? The language of love, music, literature, and humanity sees no boundaries.

This has been proved by a viral video from a Pakistani show that has connected the West with the East. The serial has now caught the attention of the entire India, let alone the Bengali community, as it played quite a few Rabindra Sangeet, songs written by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore.

Scenes of the show ‘Dil Kya Karay’ started doing rounds on social media after the show’s director, Mehreen Jabbar shared them on her Instagram handle. One of the lead actors Yumna Zaidi’s character sings the popular song ‘Amaro Porano Jaha Chay’ while talking about her interest in the craft. In another scene, Zaidi’s character is seen singing ‘Ami tomaro birohe rohibo’ (I will live in the pain of your separation) amongst her friends.

The songs have been originally sung by singer Sharvari Deshpande.

Netizens are full of praise after watching and hearing the rendition. Few called it a bold and beautiful way of acceptance of culture, and some hailed Robi Thakur.

Rabindra Sangeet is a bundle of songs composed by the Bengali polymath Rabindranath Tagore. He was a prolific composer and has approximately 2,232 songs to his credit. The songs have distinctive characteristics in the music of Bengal.
