To ensure that passengers have optimum satisfaction while traveling, Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has been working progressively ensuring that there are zero issues while using facilities such as- safety, sanitation, catering services, comfort, cleanliness and much more.
The move is made to counter and reduce the number of fraudulent vendors and the constant issues of overcharging the passengers. In case, the vendors fail to provide authentic bills during their journey with Indian Railways, IRCTC has stated that the customers do not have to pay for food.
IRCTC spokesperson Pinakin Morawala said to TOI, “The IRCTC’s wants more passengers to utilize its catering services without facing the risk of being overcharged or misled. This will also curb the unauthorized vendors.” He also advised the passengers to buy food items from the authorized IRCTC food vendors only and demand valid bills.
“The IRCTC has a fixed price of all the food items sold, including water. If the passengers start asking for bills, we will be able to ascertain if the vendor is from the IRCTC or not,” said an official with IRCTC.
If the passengers face issues, they can approach the designated train captains and file their respective complaints via phone numbers provided on the Indian Railways stations.
