Rain has been lashing over Chennai, and more clouds may hit in a few days. This, in turn, has triggered a flood situation in the city. But thanks to the frontline workers, everything has been running smoothly, and lives have been saved.

To acknowledge these unsung heroes, Netizens took to Twitter to share their brave stories, working tirelessly in the floods. Even the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin, acknowledged their contributions in a tweet.

Here are a few instances that show their exemplary diligence.

A Twitter post by user Bala Jith shows a female sanitation worker tirelessly cleaning the roads amid heavy rainfall in Chennai.

“Been heading back home in the heavy rain, then I saw a sanitation worker woman who’s been doing her work despite the heavy rain. I know it’s their job, but still working during these kinda times is really respectable and appreciable. Place: Royapettah, Chennai,” he mentioned in the caption.

Similarly, a visual of a woman being carried to safety by a team of policemen was shared by the Greater Chennai Police on their Twitter handle. The police were walking inside ankle-deep water to carry the woman to an ambulance.

The third tweet of a Policewoman carrying a man from the cemetery to an ambulance on bare shoulders has been a rage on the Internet.

Chief Minister M K Stalin recognized all the kind and brave workers and shared a collage of some tweets hailing them on Twitter.
