It is hard to communicate with parents sometimes, yet nothing can be more complicated if it is about your own identity. Yet, a child had a sweet and unique way of doing that, and he not only won over his mom but the entire internet.
It is generally in the teenage when children start attaining their true gender orientation. For this teen named Crow, it happened at the same time. He wanted to share it with his mom, but he didn’t think it would be fitting to tell her in person, so he wrote her an entire note.
However, what is winning the internet is not just the letter but also his mom’s reaction to it.
A snap of the letter was posted by mom Cherie Garcia who describes herself as a Kitchen Designer and Advocate of Public Education on Twitter. It was made out of colorful cut-out letters, and the message on it read, “Congratulations, you are now the proud owner of your very own son.”
Sharing the incident further, the mom wrote in a series of tweets that when Crow handed the letter, she was on a call with her ex-husband (father to Crow), who asked what was going on. Garcia told him very casually that it seemed like the kids (she has two) were doing homework or getting some ransom. (They generally use paper cut-outs to demand ransom to maintain anonymity)
Little did she know that it was her child’s big-time coming out. But she was great in handling it and pointed out only a spelling mistake rather than behaving adversely.
“There is nothing my kids could do to lose my support and unconditional love. My prayer for each of them is that they live life as their authentic selves, without compromise. My teen is figuring things out, and I support him 100% because God created both of my babies perfectly,” she stressed her words and made it loud and clear to the netizens by writing that.
Take a look at the letter and tweets.
My teenager handed me this envelope and asked that I wait to open it until after he went to his dad’s house. After opening it, I called to let him know that the *only* thing that’s wrong with this is the “r” he accidentally left out of congratulations . 😊🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 pic.twitter.com/0DXmvcgGjk

I couldn’t decide when I came out so I gave my parents 3 different cards. This was one. pic.twitter.com/piv6dCig7z

One of my students at church just changed his pronouns, we had a gender reveal party for him, the entire church participated.

I love the drama of it. My own non binary kiddo nailed a note to their door in the middle of the night and declared that if we must refer to them to refer to them as our spawn 😂. I commented on the atrocious handwriting.

Isn’t that really heartwarming?
