If you are willing to do good you will always find ways, no matter whatever little change you can bring. And of all, saving the environment and the human race as whole is something that is the call of the hour.

This need was heeded by a girl in her teens who is now doing an amazing thing that is not only reducing pollution but helping the needy.

Alyssa, an 11-year-old school girl from North Wales, United Kingdom is making life-saving blankets for the homeless to stay warm during this harsh winter out of used or disposed chips packets.

Little Girl Makes Blankets Out Of Chips Packets

The British teen holds the title of International Junior Miss North Wales Pre-Teen 2021/22. She always wanted to help the unfortunate which led her to this initiative in due course of time.

Alyssa needs 44 packets in order to make just one blanket. Each blanket takes about 45 minutes to make with the ironing and weather proofing. Besides this, she also includes goodies such as hats, gloves, socks and chocolate and packs them all in form of parcels that are later distributed to the homeless.

The little girl is now collecting more and more crisp bags to transform them into these warm survival blankets. She is assisted by her mum Darlene, 48, who collects empty crisp bags at work before helping to iron them together.

At first, she was using her own pocket money to fund this but later on they have had a fundraiser and raffle to help stock the parcels. They named it Crisp Packet Project and aimed to make at least 100 blankets in the process which they ultimately attained.

“I am very proud and happy I reached my target 100 survival care packages. More than 100 hours of making crisp packets survival blankets, cutting all the plastic bags, packing them and cleaning the crisp packets. Thank you to all my friends, my mum’s friends, everyone who sends us crisp packets and donations of beddings and my family who are always there to help me, my nan who helped clean the smelly crisp packets my auntie for sewing all the bags and my ate Sarah and Ate Memo for everything,” she wrote on her Facebook post after completing her goal.
