Sharing is Good Karma:

In a period, when the whole world is reflecting on their deeds caged in their homes, some stories of humanity around us are proof that goodness is still around.

One such act of kindness was shown by a traffic constable from Hyderabad named Sirupangi Mahesh Kumar. In a video posted by the Telangana Police on their Twitter handle, Mahesh is seen offering his own lunchbox to destitute children. The incident has become viral earning him utmost praise from citizens and the police department.

Mahesh spotted them on the night of May 17 in Hyderabad. He was passing by the Somajiguda area while patrolling the streets. Mahesh just couldn’t tolerate the miserable state of the kids who were so hungry and looking for food in the dustbin.

He then walked up to their father, who was also with them, and asked him why he was out with the kids during the lockdown. The father then explained that the three have been searching for food for a while and even tried to beg but got no help. Now they were forced to eat from scraps.

This hit the constable hard. He made his mind to help these people. He then took out paper plates and handed them to the two homeless children. Next, he brings out his packed lunchbox from his jute bag and opens it, serving them a hearty meal of rice, curry, and chicken fry.

The joy on the kid’s faces is perhaps the best thing one could see and Mahesh made sure to bring it so they were full of gratitude.

Meanwhile, the constable’s colleague recorded the scene on his mobile phone and shared the clip with other police officials.

Traffic Constable Mahesh has been in service for decades now but little did he know that this little act of kindness will make him an overnight star on social media. Even the commissioner of police of Hyderabad, Anjani Kumar, invited Mahesh to his office after watching the clip and appreciated his good gesture.

Some even appealed to the cop to take care of the kids and his father’s well-being.
