On our beloved Jack Sparrow’s real life birthday, we bring a piece of news that you may have missed and will definitely astonish and delight you.
John Christopher Depp II or Johnny Depp turns 59 today. Earlier this month, a jury unanimously found “clear and convincing evidence” that Amber Heard, Johny Depp’s ex-wife defamed him when she wrote an op-ed about being a victim of domestic violence for the Washington Post in 2018.
Depp was awarded $15 million by a jury, which later capped at $10.35 million. Heard, on the other hand, was awarded $2 million in damages in a counterclaim against her ex over defamatory comments made by his lawyer, who referred to her abuse claims as a “hoax”.
In recent update of the case, Johny through his attorney has revealed that he is satisfied with his “total win” in the defamation suit against his ex-wife Amber Heard.
“We obviously can’t disclose attorney-client communications, but as Mr Depp testified … this was never about money for Mr Depp. This was about restoring his reputation – and he’s done that. It was a total win for Johnny,” Attorney Ben Chew said in a televised interview.
Johny Celebrates Victory At Indian Restaurant
Meanwhile, upon his victory, Johny had dinner at an Indian restaurant named ‘Varanasi’ in UK. As per reports, he shelled out over $62,000 (£50,000) or roughly Rs 49 Lakh on the curry dinner with his friends.
Depp was seen enjoying Indian food alongside musician friend and collaborator Jeff Beck and 20 other people. Following his London shows, the Pirates of the Caribbean star traveled to Birmingham to perform with Beck onstage at Symphony Hall. The actor and his musician friend also posed for photos with fans who were dining at the restaurant.
Johnny gorged on some delectable Indian dishes including kebabs, paneer tikka masala, tandoori king prawns and more during his visit.
The restaurant staff called him a “down-to-earth bloke” and proving that, a video has emerged of Depp entertaining a number of kids at the restaurant.
“He was really good with the children, but there was about 60 of us there and he didn’t leave one person without hugging or kissing them, or shaking their hands. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime moment, really”

Johny’s legions of fans have cheered him on throughout the trial, and Depp is paying them back in kind, as has been visible during many of his fan interactions of late. Since the verdict, he has been spotted at a pub and made surprise appearances at Jeff Beck’s concerts in the UK.
“This is the Real Johnny Depp, he’s been like this his whole Career. Such a kind soul. It was so dope to see him do Willy Wonka For the kids, the Nerd in me would be freaking out if I saw him. I’d ask him to say, “Rum” because the way he said it in Pirate’s is hilarious. So glad to see this man be able to live his life freely now,” a netizen wrote.
“Johnny is living his truth. He wants to be around folks that he can just be himself with I love he is eating in regular restaurants visiting with the children. Shaking hands giving hugs. He’s out of the Hollywood microscope. He moved on with his life the minute he got up out of his chair in the courtroom after his final testimony. He left for England in no time,” wrote a second.
