From Aryabhatta to Srinivasa Ramanujan to Shakuntala Devi, India is filled with genius minds that have discovered the joy of numbers. While most of the mathematicians in history have received traditional education as their base, Shakuntala Devi stood out with no higher education past her lower primary schooling. This did not stop her from becoming the world’s fastest human calculator or being called the human-computer.

But perhaps God has bestowed similar talents to many others whom we may not have discovered yet. After all, it’s a country for more than a billion people! A similar math-magician has surfaced on the internet in recent days.

Irfan, a 21-year-old from Dudu Tehsil under Jaipur district in Rajasthan has startled everyone with his amazing speed of solving complex mathematical problems. He is said to calculate the number of days, seconds, and other units of any random person by just hearing their age. Not only this, but he can also solve many complex multiplications and problems in the blink of an eye.

What sets him apart from the rest of the crowd is that he has never received schooling for a single day. Even then he is capable of making all the calculations on his own.

Dubbed as ‘Superhuman’ by everyone around, Irfan is once again making the headlines after a Twitter user @dimwittedjoker posted his one-year-old video.

In the video, Irfan declares that he has received no education at all. Likewise in a separate video, the genius explains a very curious story behind his abilities.

Irfan says that once he had a very high fever which was colloquially narrated to him as “Mata fever”. What followed this very ailment is that he started solving maths very fast entirely on his own with no schooling and calculators. It seems the fever changed the hard wiring of his brain, he says.

Netizens have lauded the man’s talent. A user even appealed Sonu Sood to aid him.

A second user appealed Anand Mahindra for the same.

Another observed that he suffers from a special mental condition that makes him the genius he is.

Last month, a 21-year-old boy from Hyderabad named Neelkantha Bhanu Prakash won the title of ‘World’s Fastest Human Calculator’.  A student at Delhi University, Neelkantha won the gold medal at the Mental Calculation World Championship at Mind Sports Olympiad (MSO) which was held virtually due to the COVID-19 outbreak and became the fastest human calculator of the world.
