An Indian-origin Sikh man in the US state of Arizona is selling fuel to customers at his gas station at a lower price bearing tremendous loss to help local residents.

One Jaswiendre Singh, the gas station owner in Phoenix, loses about $500 every day by selling fuel at lower rates than his purchase price. To be precise, Singh sells gas at $5.19 a gallon, which is 47 cents less than the price at which he buys it. And he sells about 3,785 liters of gas each day.

With corona, Ukraine-Russia war, and acute food shortage across the world, world is facing inflation. In such times, selflessness is not something many can afford. But Singh’s choice to help out has led to him being hailed a hero on social media.

Singh told the local media he had no regrets and that it was worth it.

“I do it to give a break to the customer and my community. People don’t have the money right now. My mother and my father taught us to help if you have something and share with other people,” Singh told the US media.

Praising God for his ability to help others, Singh informed that he and his wife were “working more to offset the losses they are feeling at the pump.” They make their money inside the store.

Singh gave out gas at cheaper rates in March as well

Singh has a history of giving out similar rebates. Back in March, he sold gas for 10 cents less than the purchase price. With prices going up around a dollar more a gallon since then, he wanted to try and help as much as he could and lowered the price even more.

“Now’s not time to make money. Right now, it’s time to help people; that’s it,” he asserted.

As his good gesture has gone viral, Singh is earning plaudits not only in his town but around the globe.

“Not all heroes wear capes. Some heroes wear turbans,” wrote a netizen applausing the gas station owner’s move.

The Sikh Community indeed is always prompt to help out when people are in need.
