Dr. Samudrala Harrsha, a renowned name in Pencil Sketch or Canvas paintings in Hyderabad has come forward to stand by the children who have been born different or subject to some grave accidents.
He was initially known for his pencil sketches, canvas, acrylic, and celebrity paintings till now.
The artist has the superlative ability to draw 30 sketches in less than an hour. For the same, he holds a record of drawing 507 sketches in 24 hours. He has also received the “Dynamic Artist of the year 2019” in Bangalore. Recently, he has received a Doctorate in recognition of his skills in art and painting.
Most of his customers call him the “Best Artist in Hyderabad”. His arts have often gone viral for he made celebrity paintings. His most famous painting is based on the heart-wrenching Disha rape and murder case.
But Harrsha has always been passionate to train students. He believes that “Talent and Desire can bring you more results”. It is this desire of him that led him to meet a 9-year-old boy named Madhu Kumar.
Only last year Harrsha learned about the boy from his contacts. Madhu met with an accident on September 15, 2019, while he was playing on the terrace of his house in Kamkole village of Munpalle Mandal. A live iron rod came in contact with the power line and hit him. As a result, he lost his limbs.
“Some people contacted me to help this boy. Initially, I thought that this is a hoax and blocked their number. Later on, I started to get other messages and realized that the matter was true. When I saw his pictures, I couldn’t keep his thought out of my head,” says Dr. Harrsha.
A month later in October, Harrsha went to meet this boy and asked him what he liked to do. His parents lived in a precarious state. Madhu’s father Tujjaram owns a puncture shop. He and his wife were in shock when doctors at Gandhi Hospital amputated all four limbs to save their son. Life took a drastic twist and they were clueless about the future as they also had three other children to take care of.
This led the artist to almost adopt the boy and give him a new life. As fate took away his limbs, Madhu started training him to make sketches using his mouth. Within a span of six months, Madhu has learned this way of making art which is another feather in his cap.
Madhu has also drawn the attention of many celebrities like Chiranjeevi. Nation’s favorite Sonu Sood also tweeted about the boy. He has also performed with Harrsha at a live event.
Besides Madhu, Dr. Harrsha has trained almost 16 specially-abled children by now. He is meeting more kids and doing this relentlessly to give them a new life, all from his own funds. Like many, Harrsha also faced losses but he has been managing things single-handedly with help of some good friends occasionally.
But few people have taken advantage of the situation.
“To my dismay, few people started spreading fake account details asking for donations in the name of Madhu. We have lodged police complaints against them at the cyber cell,” informed the artist.
