New Delhi’s famous Gurudwara Bangla Sahib has yet again made the headlines for its philanthropic initiative.
The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) recently announced that they are going to offer India’s “cheapest” diagnostic facility which will start functioning in December.
But what’s the good news?
In private laboratories, MRI costs at least Rs 2,500 whereas an MRI test at the Gurudwara diagnostic center will cost a mere Rs.50!

The diagnostic center which is to be set up at Guru Harkrishan Hospital on the Gurdwara Bangla Sahib premises will also have a dialysis center that will start this month. Like the MRI, the subsidized dialysis will cost only Rs.600, informed DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
Several diagnostic machines worth Rs.6 crore were donated to the hospital including four machines for dialysis, and a machine each for ultrasound, X-Ray, and MRI, he added.

The prices are to be regulated only for the ones in need. For the general public, the hospital will charge Rs.800 per MRI. Likewise, people from lower-income groups will be able to get an X-Ray and ultrasound done for just Rs.150.
A committee of doctors has been set up to choose the patients who could be provided the subsidy, Sirsa said.
