This wedding season people are getting more and more creative with their big day. While some are adding fun elements or making it tech savvy, others are contributing to social causes and making a difference.
One such wedding was noted in Haryana where a bride did her part in smashing patriarchy and stereotypes surrounding Indian marriages.
Bride Priya Aggarwal stunned the whole of Haryana and by now India by making a grand entry to the groom’s house riding a horse. She wore a ‘ sehra’ and carried a sword in her hand in her ‘baraat’.
The rocking bride led the wedding procession with her father, Narinder Aggarwal, mother and other relatives in tow.
The Ambala-based woman said that she was fortunate to make this tradition a part of her wedding.
Likewise her father said that he decide to tweak the traditions to send out a message of change to the Indian parents and families.
“Daughters deserve as much love and respect as sons do,” he quoted.
Priya is a law-graduate and it was her father who encouraged her to pursue the field and became an advocate, the bride said.
