Devotees create a passage of compassion and let an ambulance pass through the crowd during the Rath Yatra in Puri, Odisha. The 9-day long holy festival draws lakhs of pilgrims throughout the year.
A great example of humanity above religion.
The clip shared by Puri police went viral on Twitter and the post came with the caption that said- “1200 volunteers, 10 organizations and hours of practice made this human corridor for free ambulance movement possible during Puri Rath Yatra 2019.”

Till now the video has garnered more than 20.2k views and is retweeted 740 times and has been winning hearts online. Not thousands, but probably lakhs of devotees are seen standing on either side of the road, a human chain is also formed for the safety of everyone, almost like a barricade to let the ambulance pass smoothly through the crowd.
The chariot festival which started on July 4 marks the beginning of the religious journey of Lord Jagannath. Devotees go along the chariot on foot from Jagannath temple to Gundicha temple in Puri, which covers more than 17 km.
