Promoting Fit India Movement; This Man Is On A 6-Month Journey On His Bicycle

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture, and achievements. The official journey of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav commenced on 12th March 2021 which started a 75-week countdown to our 75th anniversary of independence and will end post a year on 15th August 2023.

Likewise, Fit India Movement was launched with a view to make fitness an integral part of our daily lives. The mission of the Movement is to bring about behavioral changes and move toward a more physically active lifestyle.

Rajiv started the journey on March 12 from Surajpur, Chattisgarh, and aims to complete it on August 15 in Delhi.

“I am on this ride covering 18000 Km across India to inspire people to stay fit by cycling. Of course, they can do many things apart from this such as – yoga, gymming, marathons, or take up any sport to stay fit. My motive is to inspire people to join the Fit India Movement amid Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. ‘Fit rahega India, tabhi to badhega India’ ” says Rajiv Rajwade to Life Beyond Numbers.

Rajwade is mostly financing his feat all by himself with a little bit of help from people he meets on his journey. But he does face trouble sometimes.

“I have many hurdles on the road which include the finance, food, and lodging but I am confident that I will be able to complete this journey. I will adjust to all shortcomings and reach my goal. There are many people who are happy to meet me. It is their support and helps that gives me strength to keep on going forward,” says the Surjapur resident.

Apart from all the passersby who encourage him, he was also greeted by Bollywood Star Kangana Ranaut on reaching Mumbai.

Rajiv began the journey from his home town crossing Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Goa. He is currently in Karnataka en route to Bangalore. From there he will reach Kerala and then cross Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, finally reaching Delhi.
