Russia has launched a devastating attack on Ukraine, by air, land, and sea.

The US Intelligence sources and few others had warned Ukraine of the attack yet the Kremlin President Vladimir Putin denied he would invade his neighbor. But then all of a sudden he tore up a peace deal, sending forces across borders in Ukraine’s north, east and south, and continues its offensive on Kyiv and other cities.

Now there are heaps of dead bodies of both army and civilians. There are millions of lives at stake, taking shelter in bunkers, and metro stations to save themselves from the air strikes.

The president of Ukraine to this day has refused to leave the country, he is standing with the army to protect the country.

These Instances From Ukraine Call Out Loud For No War But Peace

But this isn’t done. It seems absurd that even in 21st century people care about invasion in the middle of pandemic, for whichever reason. There are other ways to do it. And there are so many burning issues that need to be addressed and tackled. There are so many ways of being world power.

As truly said by Poet Mahmoud Darwish, “The war will end. The leaders will shake hands. The old woman will keep waiting for her martyred son. That girl will wait for her beloved husband. And those children will wait for their heroic father. I don’t know who sold our homeland. But I saw who paid the price.”

Here are few instances from the Russian invasion that will haunt your soul and prove why there is a dire need of peace between the nations and war shouldn’t be an option.

The Cross-Border Couple

In a photo that has been making rounds on the Internet, a man was seen draped in the flag of Ukraine while he is standing close in a romantic gesture with a woman who has the Russian flag wrapped around herself.  This striking image takes on a special significance.

As per reports, the image was taken when Juliana Kuznetsova (the woman in the photograph) and her fiance were at a concert in Poland in 2019. Tension between the two countries had been brewing even at that time – after Russia invaded Ukraine back in 2014.

Love in the time of war

A couple at a metro station in Kyiv was captured shortly before the foreign minister warned that a “full-scale invasion” was under way.

Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish’s words came alive as a photograph of featuring a young man and woman, looking deep into each other’s eyes with sorrow surfaced online.

A Soldier’s Message

A video of a Ukrainian soldier has gone viral on social media platforms. The 13-second-long video shows the soldier delivering a loving message to his family.

He says, “Mom, dad, I love you” which has increased concerns of many people who have came across it. They are all wishing for his safety.

The Hardest Separation

A video of a Ukrainian father bidding goodbye to his anguished daughter as she allegedly fled the country to safety while he was seemingly forced to stay back has gone viral on social media.

The man stayed because of a ban that prevents all able-fighting men from leaving the nation.

The list continues to grow and the scenes wrench our hearts. We hope it all ends for good.
