The song ‘Sandese Aate Hain’ from JP Dutta’s film Border has always had a special place in our hearts for it beautifully speaks out the feelings of a soldier fighting on the international boundaries. The hit from the 1997 film has been originally sung by Sonu Nigam, and Roopkumar Rathod, two of the most soulful voices of India. One can bet that people know it as well as the national anthem.
Being so popular has led several artists to perform it on innumerable occasions. Yet this Army Day two folk artists from Ladakh have brought out a truly magical rendition of the song.
The video that has caught all attention has been shot against the picturesque backdrop of Ladakh’s mountain ranges. A man is singing while playing the guitar in his hand, in the background fluttering flags set a more ‘Pahadi’ mood. There is also a female singer alongside him who joins in harmonizing.
As the song went viral, it was revealed that the two singers are famous Ladakhi folk artists, Padma Dolkar and Stanzin Norgais.
Listeners are awestruck and felt the true essence of soldiers guarding Ladakh and all borders through the setting of the video. Some even noted that it ended abruptly and hoped the complete version of the song would be released soon.
The video has been rightfully shared by several celebrities and the public at large who don’t seem to get enough of it.

Following the overwhelming response, the singer Norgais has thanked everyone.
“It really feels great to convey our love for the nation and their sacrifices so that we live in peace and harmony. Jai Hind Jai Bharat!“, he wrote on Twitter.
