Making love genderless, the Supreme Court of India in a landmark judgment on Thursday, Sept 6 scrapped Section 377 of the IPC that earlier criminalized gay sex which was a violation of the fundamental rights.
The verdict was welcomed with millions across the nation and with this, India has etched its name in the list of countries where being gay is not a crime. It is a great achievement for people belonging to the LGBTQ community because for the first time they can shed their fear and embrace their partners in the open.
