The center on Wednesday denounced the unprecedented violence at the farmers’ tractor rally on Republic Day, saying, “it can’t be condemned enough“. In its first official reaction since the widespread clashes, the government also promised action against those who are responsible.
“Action should be against all of those who instigated others. India won’t tolerate the manner in which the Tricolour was insulted at the Red Fort,” said Union minister Prakash Javadekar.
The matter aggravated when Punjabi actor and activist Deep Sidhu, in a Facebook post defended the planting of a “Nishan Sahib” or Sikh religious flag at the iconic monument.
Several farmer leaders have accused the actor of tainting the anti-farm law protest. He was allegedly responsible for the farmer’s movement towards the Red Fort, where they had climbed the walls and clashed with the police when they were asked to leave.
In such times, Samman Tiranga, an initiative undertaken by Environmentalist and Social Worker Mr. Atul Anand Pandey, has come forward to spread awareness among citizens to show respect toward the Indian National Flag. The team initiated an app and website, which was launched by Shri Ram Niwas Goel, honorable speaker of Delhi Vidhan Sabha, on January 26.
The national flag is the pride of a nation, which instills patriotism in the citizens, and the spirit to die for one’s nation. The aim of Samman Tiranga is to educate Indian citizens to show love and respect towards the Indian Tricolor, TIRANGA.

The Samman Tiranga Foundation’s vision is to popularize the display of Tiranga by more citizens with love and respect, like a soldier. Tiranga represents every Indian religion, language, culture, and region. It is the most significant symbol of our unity in diversity.
Honorable Speaker Shri Ram Niwas Goel Ji shared his thoughts on the occasion of the launch by saying, “I urge people make the objective of Samman Tiranga successful. If one sees any dirty or torn Indian flag anywhere, they can use the app to contact the team. The team will come and they exchange the flag free of cost. This is a great accomplishment of Mr. Atul Anand Pandey, and his team or their respect towards the nation is incredible.”
The Samman Tiranga Foundation Of India also spreads awareness about facts, code of conduct for the National Flag of India. It is an attempt to strive for the uplifting of the true sense of nationalism and patriotism. The Tiranga embodies our modern democratic, secular, and liberal values, which should be embraced by all Indians.

The farmers, who received permission to hold the rally at a designated time and route on the Republic Day – had deviated from it, triggering clashes with the police. The protestors broke barricades at the three borders from where the rally was to start – Singhu, Tikri, and Ghaziabad. A group went to the iconic Red Fort, where they entered the Mughal-era structure.
