Nonstop rains causing floods in the regions of Bihar had led to bother the teachers and students in the state. Schools in the Manihari region of Bihar’s Katihar district have been closed for quite a long now. However, these three teachers did not let their students’ education jeopardize.
The teaching staff has come together to provide education to children by conducting the classes on a boat in Katihar’s flood-ravaged regions. The teachers also run a coaching center for free as reported in The New Indian Express.
Ravindra Kumar Mandal, Pankaj Kumar Sah, and Kundan Kumar Sah run ‘Naav ki Pathshala,’ which provides free classes to about 40 children in the flooded Singhala tola of Manihari sub-division. Twelve of them are set to take their class 10 exams next year.
When conducting the classes, all precautionary measures are taken care of. The goal of offering free instruction is to empower students via education. In addition to teaching, teachers assist students by supplying required stationery items such as pencils, books, and others.

"There is flood-like situation for 6 months here. We have no other option but to teach local students on the boat," says Pankaj Kumar Shah, a teacher pic.twitter.com/IIShbzAFxG
They launched the ‘Naav ki Pathshala’ project since they didn’t have any other options. Floodwaters remain in the area for about six months and students can’t afford to miss their classes for that long.
