It is said that necessity is the mother of invention and that man is a slave of habits.

The lockdown has acted in a similar way enhancing the culinary skills of almost all humans. Being held in homes for months together and not getting to eat varieties of street and restaurant food created this craving among billions of men and women across the world. And this inspired people to cook their own favorite food and satiate their taste buds.

But would you expect a girl as young as 10 years to enter the kitchen? Surprising isn’t it?

S.N. Lakshmi Sai Sri, a girl from Tamil Nadu who probably studies in 4th standard as per her age, has entered the UNICO Book of World Records by cooking 46 dishes in 58 minutes in Chennai on Tuesday.

On creating the world record Sai Sri said that she developed an interest in cooking very recently and was trained by her mother. She also expressed her happiness for her achievement.

I have learned cooking from my mother. I am very happy that I have achieved this milestone,” she said to ANI.

N. Kalaimagal, mother of Sai Sri said that her daughter started cooking during the lockdown and as she was doing really well, her father suggested attempting to create the world record.

I cook different traditional cuisines of Tamil Nadu. During the lockdown, my daughter used to spend her time with me in the kitchen. When I was discussing her interest in cooking with my husband, he suggested that she should make an attempt on world record on culinary activity. That’s how we got the idea,” she said.

The idea came from the research done by Sai Sri’s father who found that a 10-year-old girl Saanvi from Kerala cooked around 33 dishes on August 29.

Thus, he wanted his daughter to break Saanvi’s record,” she added.

The UNICO World Records emphasize on unique achievements of Indians within the country and abroad. Their objective is to provide a platform for ordinary Indians to showcase their talents in their search for excellence and to set new records.
