A photograph is a glimpse of time that captures memories from the wheel of time. All of us surely have bunches of albums stacked in our storage shelves and some in hard drives or computers that have wonderful moments stacked in them. Of them, gazing at our parents’ wedding albums is perhaps our favorite pass time. I remember when I was a kid I used to cry for not being in those photographs, so one day my mother showed me one random kid and I was convinced it’s me!
Yet not many of us have photographs of our grandma and granddad’s wedding. Do we? Unlike today, back then photography could only be afforded by the affluent as it cost pretty much. Many towns didn’t even have photographers.
A similar cause perhaps did not facilitate 85-year-old Kunjootty and 80-year-old Chinnamma, an elderly couple from Kerala’s Idukki district from clicking their wedding photograph when they married 58 years ago. On learning this, their grandson who himself works as a wedding photographer came forth with the idea of conducting an elaborate wedding photoshoot of his grandparents.
And look at this! Kunjootty and Chinnamma are simply glowing in wedding attire – the grandfather as the groom, dressed in a neat black suit while the grandmother as the bride was draped in a white saree. The two also held flower bouquets in their hands and posed so beautifully that our hearts are mellowed.
