We visit hill stations, go for treks and explore nature in every possible way. However, most of us fail to observe, listen, and learn the lessons that these tiny plants and trees teach us daily in a subtle way.

So, let’s go out for a stroll today in the nearby garden and explore what we can learn from mother nature.

1. As you sow, so shall you reap!

What happens when you sow the seed of a mango tree? A mango tree grows. Right? However, can you expect a mango tree to grow when you sow the seeds of a Neem tree?

NOPE! It sounds so stupid to even think like that!

This makes it clear that what we put inside our body & mind determines the situations that we will create. You cannot expect to feel motivated if you start your day with some negative news or gossip from B-town. However, if you start your day with some uplifting stories and information, you will remain happy & joyful throughout the day.

If you ever feel that your life is going out of track unexpectedly, work on your input.

The books you read, the sites you surf, the friends you hang out with, the people you meet, and the places you go to are shaping your life silently.

2. Every plant grows at its own pace…

Did you know that if you sow some Fenugreek (Methi) seeds, they will sprout in a few days? However, bamboo takes about three years to get established.

Bamboo doesn’t compare itself to Methi and creates pressure to grow at the same pace. Nature never misses a chance to communicate the importance of uniqueness and individuality, and it presents the necessity to accept oneself and stay true to one’s character.

Bamboo is a lucky plant as per Feng Shui, whereas Methi is a helpful herb for cooking. People love them for their specific characteristics because they are true to their nature. In an attempt to imitate somebody else, people lose themselves, and there is no more significant loss than losing oneself.

3. Trees & creepers can grow side by side, without any fight!

Have you ever come across a creeper in your garden or at any other place?

They are very flexible and take help as and when required. Creepers lean on other vigorous plants or walls for support. The humble nature of these creepers is a reminder from nature to ask for help whenever needed. To portray themselves as “independent”, people have forgotten that we are all connected.

Moreover, the plants surrounding the creepers offer their support as well. Asking & Giving help is a circle of life. The thought of isolating oneself and feeling that ‘you don’t need anyone’ can keep you away from all the love, harmony, and compassion.

So, remember the relation between creepers and trees next time you need help or get an opportunity to help someone.

4. Plants always work on the roots first…

Whenever a seed is sown, roots are strengthened first. Once the roots are strong, outer growth or the sprouting begins. This gives us the idea that the work should first start from within, which will then reflect in our outer world.

The solution for any disturbance in our outer world lies in our inner world. Our inner world consists of our thoughts and emotions. To sprout a new seed in the external world, strengthening the inner world is necessary. Meditation and healing are two main activities that help in shaping your inner world.

5. Never asks who is plucking the flower or the fruit…

Pluck a flower or a fruit from a tree or a plant. Wait for a moment and see whether it asks you for your name, identity, need, or other information.

THEY WON’T!

Nature selflessly offers itself to humans without any discrimination, and it gives irrespective of your age, weight, height, race, gender, social status, or religion.

Nature teaches us the art of selfless giving

We can always have a few portions of our life, money, or any other property as an offering, and it can be a few hours in a week or a few days in a month. You may choose what you want to offer and give it without any restrictions.

Experience the joy and see the wonders it does for you!

These are not some rules to be followed or remembered. Just experience the above qualities every time you observe a tree or a plant, and you will soon start to imbibe those qualities in your life without much friction.
