As the nation grapples for oxygen, many good samaritans have come forward selflessly to aid those in need. One of them is Gurgaon’s cab driver Amarjeet Singh.

Looking at the current plight of people running for ambulance and oxygen, Amarjeet converted his cab into a free oxygen ambulance for COVID patients.

He recently ‘fainted’ due to heatstroke while filling one of the oxygen cylinders. Maybe that’s God’s way of telling him that he needs to rest too. He has been providing his services 24*7 to anyone who needs it. But he plans to resume his service as soon as declared fit by the doctors.

Dr. Priyanka Popli, a Gurgaon resident, posted on her Facebook about the incident and his incessant selfless service.

In her post, Priyanka mentions that she has known Amarjeet Singh for quite a long time. She says that Singh is a soft-spoken, responsible, and good-hearted person who used to take her daughter to school in pre-COVID days. She also mentions that Singh is seemingly not very well-to-do as he would often ask for an advance payment to make repairs in his vehicle, or at times, he had no money to get petrol filled.

But today this man, who himself struggles to meet his ends, has started an entire free oxygen ambulance service. Amarjeet had about 7-8 Lakhs saved for his children’s education and he is using that fund now for his service.

When Dr. Priyanka learned that he is offering his services all for free, she advised him to charge a bare minimum or at least put a donation box in the car for his survival.

Ma’am achha nahi lagta, waheguru phir de dega (I don’t feel good about it. God will provide again,” Amarjeet was quick to reply to her suggestion.

He also has a wonderful family who supports him in each of his decisions, no matter how risky they are.

So, when he shared his worry of getting infected due to exposure with his kids, his 8-year-old daughter told him, “Papa if something happens to us, at least we can tell Waheguru that we did the right thing.

He recently picked up a patient from Medanta, Gurgaon at 3.30 am and dropped her to Ghaziabad, with oxygen. Absolutely free of cost.

Such will to do good is rare. This man has been driving 24*7 to the farthest of places carrying patients to hospitals. He doesn’t care at what time a patient calls for help. He reaches their doorstep even in the wee hours and fares them.

But a couple of days ago, Amarjeet Singh fainted. He had been driving day and night, continuously. That day, he was around Najafgarh in the afternoon and while getting his oxygen cylinder refilled after dropping a patient, he suffered a heat stroke. Fortunately, before he was about to faint, he called them up and shared his location and his wife and son reached there in time and got him hospitalized. He’s much better now, but he won’t be able to drive around for a few days.
