Will you agree with me if I say that to be creative, it’s important to keep evolving, keep learning new skills, continue polishing existing skills, and explore new ways of doing something?

Most of you would agree and say yes, as you may have even tried doing new things with great zeal, like that new health exercise or joining that new language course with great courage. However, have you been able to pursue it consistently?

Like our new year’s resolutions, our energy and actions become inconsistent over time. We forget our WHYs. Why we wanted to do them, how accomplishing that task would make us feel, and how this course, new task, or new skill will take us one step closer to the next level.

But it’s not your fault. If you deep dive, you will find something is hiding behind your excuses of not doing it regularly, for not being consistent.

If you sit with yourself and find out what it is, you will be surprised to see some connection with your past, with your childhood.

It may be that the last time you tried something new, it didn’t work out, or people around you were not supportive, you were not appreciated enough, your efforts were not admired, and you just gave it up.

It’s hard. I know.

However, how did you forget all the hard work you put in? How could you forget that smile on your face, that happiness it brought when you were doing it when you were so engrossed in it that you forgot your meals, you forgot how time flew, and that nothing mattered in those moments as you enjoyed doing it with all your heart?

We always have a choice. What’s more important for you? The happiness you felt doing that task, that sense of accomplishment, or the judgment of others who missed noticing your efforts, sweat, and pains.

You know the answer.

Leave others and love yourself. Do what makes you happy. See how doing what you love can take you to the next level. Become so engrossed in doing what you love that others and time will no longer matter.

And remember, when you do what you want, what you love, what makes you happy, your whole being lights up, and all your cells support you, and you feel elated and happy.

Don’t do it for consistency. Don’t force it. Do it for yourself.

Think of WHY you want to do it and HOW it will make you feel, and that will inspire you from within to take action that will help you progress. When your WHY is strong, everything else will fall into place.

Love yourself a little more. Do what makes you happy. Smile more often. And it’s all so easy.
