Corona. These days all we hear from dawn to dusk is related to this fat virus! Everyone’s talking about safety, borders and death rates. But is it all negative?

There’s no absolute darkness, even Trump and Clinton said one nice sentence about each other during their debate!

Those who experienced WW-II are mostly dead or old by now, but have you ever heard the fascinating stories and details they have to say?

These people had to face the transition of their daily life without notice and get used to it. They had to find a way to smile again, have wedding parties and go to work while burying their beloved ones or leaving their towns. Some of them had nothing to eat for weeks, slept in camps and witnessed genocides with their own eyes! They saw both sides of the people around them, those who were kind, hopeful and tough as well as the savage, selfish ones!

I’d like to refer to those who survived as “the wise ones” because they learned to be thankful for simple things that we don’t even think about, from one of the most unique events throughout mankind’s history.

Our current challenge is no exception. Coronavirus is involving more than 175 countries so far while only 35 countries (if we count USSR as 15 countries) were dealing with WW-II.

Although it’s a matter of our existence, let’s look at it in other ways.

There is no traffic on the streets, almost no airplanes in the sky and no cruises in the ocean, which translates to less man-made pollution!

Most people are at home now, cooking and spending more time with their families and pets, but not knowing that this could turn to a good memory, especially since children are having extended spring break to enjoy!

There are a lot of good spirits around who are breaking the current fear cage by encouraging others to be positive like the dancing doctors in Iran who made patients laugh which inspired other doctors all around the world or a barista who’s dedicating his time by making coffee for hospital staff in China to boost their energy.

One colleague of mine was helping everyone at work before shutting down our store, even though he barely talks to others on a normal day.

I also saw our neighbor helping an old lady a few houses away to shop her essential goods.

If you think about the last few weeks, you’ll remember people’s kindness too.

Try not to panic when you see the empty isles at stores; instead look at it as something unique, something that (hopefully) you’ll never see again. Use it as an opportunity for exciting stories to tell when you grow old.

Believe it or not, this is the situation we are stuck in for now but it will be gone before you know, then be happy and use your good mood against all the negativities.

Surely tons and tons are following news hourly and worrying about their families, I get it, but what’s the point of being sad? Why would you lose your precious free time thinking about the possibility of death? If you’re doing all of the safety and cleaning steps and not going out unless needed, then there’s no reason to stress yourself out! You can’t control more than you already are.

Don’t you remember all of those times you were stuck at work, thinking if you only had a few weeks on your own to do what you enjoyed? Here it is! Use it and boost your life quality while you can.

Our grand grandchildren are going to judge us by what we are doing today. Let’s make it a good page on their history books!
