This 16 year boy wonder from Assam has brought, once again, the glory and fame to India.
Team India set a new Guinness World Record by solving 2,454 Rubik Cubes in one hour at IIT-Chennai. It was a nine member Indian team, including Kabyanil. Indian team performed in presence of a representative from the Guinness World Records. The previous record of 1,860 cubes was held by an Italian team called Cubing Italy.
Out of the India’s 2,454, Kabyanil alone solved 273 cubes within one hour.
“I feel proud that I was part of the team. We have broken the previous record that was held by a team of Italian cube solvers. It was quite a nerve-wrecking achievement and I alone solved 273 cubes within one hour. This shows that we are a formidable team in the world and we can pose a challenge to competitors from different parts of the globe” said Kabyanil to TOI.
Previously, Kabyanil also won the Rubik’s Cube world championship in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2015 and bagged the gold medal in the 3×3 blindfolded category. More than 300 players from 34 countries participated at the competition where he completed the feat in just 24.86 seconds by defeating fellow competitors from USA, Peru, Brazil, Germany, Korea and Japan in the final round.
Kabyanil Talukdar is a Class X student from Assam Jatiya Vidyalay, Guwahati, Assam.
Congratulations to this young genius and the Indian team. May you bring more glory to the nation in the years to come.
