Fondly known as the Missile Man of India, APJ Abdul Kalam was the 11th president of India.
In 2010, the United Nations had declared October 15th as World Students’ Day. Since then, every year, former president APJ Abdul Kalam’s birthday is celebrated as World Students’ Day. A great leader who always wanted that people remember him as a great teacher.
He once said, “Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber, and future of an individual. If the people remember me as a good teacher, that will be the biggest honor for me.”
October 15 marks the birth anniversary of this humble man whose indomitable spirit has inspired millions across the globe. His discipline, dedication, and determination made the missile program and PSLVs such a success in India. Dr. Kalam used to draw his strength from the failures. What made him a great leader is this man never revealed the shortcomings of his team members, rather helped them and took responsibility to stand by them at all times.
Not many are aware of the fact that before taking oath as the President Of India, he worked with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and as an aerospace engineer with the Development Organisation (DRDO).
