This Pride Month, we have come across some incredible stories of the LGBTQ+ community which reinstate our faith in love, humanity, and diversity. Before the parade is about to sign off, we are here to share another wonderful relationship of a queer couple who underwent a physical, and occupational transition to find their true selves and live a happier life.
Raj and Andy Bandopadhyay from New York have been married for several years now. Raj is a pass out from Stanford and Rice Rice University who holds a doctorate in Data Science and has been working in the field. Andy has a Ph.D. in Public Policy from Georgia University and has been in service for 7 years now.
They both shared quite a great bond which was put to test in 2016 when Andy came out as Transgender.
At that time, they lived in San Francisco where everyone in the queer community started to assume that their marriage won’t last, as Raj is straight. But they were all proved wrong as the duo magically worked it out.
Raj shared their story on LinkedIn lately which has garnered thousands of likes and comments from people.
He further says that Andy’s transition rather led him to introspect.
“What do I need to change in my life to be happy?“, he questioned himself.
And then just like that, he gained the courage to leave behind his flamboyant career in data science to pursue his longstanding dream of pursuing photography, and creative entrepreneurship.

Having said this Raj quotes, ”To me, that’s what a marriage is about – helping each other find and live our true and best selves, regardless of gender or orientation.” On a funny note, he sports a tshirt in a couple of photographs from 2019 which reads, ”I’m not gay, but my husband is” adding that he is probably the only guy who can wear it.

Amazing isn’t it? Happy Pride Month, y’all!!!
