This young Houston resident is in news for throwing a party. However, not for her graduation friends but homeless people.

Leanne Carrasco organized a unique celebration by feeding pizzas to the needy women, children and this is winning hearts online. While the event took place at the Star of Hope Center in Houston where 95 pizzas were ordered for the center’s 400 residents. Further, these people were also handed out personal hygiene bags that contain a toothbrush, toothpaste, wipes, and deodorant.

The post is shared by the PR Director of the shelter and it said, Instead of a graduation party, Waltrip HS Senior Leanne Carrasco asked family and friends to throw a pizza party for the homeless women and children @StarOfHope. They provided and served 95 pizzas and made and distributed 400 “toiletry bags”.

This is not the first time Leanne has volunteered for the organization and while talking to CNN, she mentioned, “Not a lot of people have the same options as me. It’s not fair. There are a lot of people who need help. So I give it.” Adding to this she said, she wanted to be a blessing for these women and children and show them that they are valued and someone is there to care for them.

Carrasco now has plans to study nursing at Briar Cliff University in Iowa and wants to give back to society.
