We all love our skin, right girls? For those of us who have not been blessed with great skin, we strive day and night for a healthy, and more importantly, glowing skin. Regular visits to the parlour, eating right, monthly facials and what not? All this just to make the skin look great and free from acne. And the rare times when it all pays off, we couldn’t be happier! But ever wondered why most of the times all the care we put in our skin doesn’t pay off? Chances are that you are not doing it right. You can spend endlessly on your skin, but still not get the right glow if you’re making these mistakes.

things to do for a good skin

But ever wondered why most of the times all the care we put in our skin doesn’t pay off? Chances are that you are not doing it right. You can spend endlessly on your skin, but still not get the right glow if you’re making these mistakes.

1. Touching Your Face Constantly

Like you, your skin needs to breathe too. When you keep touching your skin, you are just blocking the air path. If you keep touching your skin constantly, it just increases the chances of pimples and acne breakouts. Also, the dirt on your hand gets transferred to your skin when you touch it and hence, the dullness and breakouts.

2. Not Applying Sunscreen

We understand that there are times when you are in an absolute hurry and might not get time to apply sunscreen. But your skin won’t understand that. Stepping out without sunscreen is an absolute no-no! Also, most people skip the sunscreen on cloudy days. That again, is a huge mistake most of us make. Even if it is cloudy outside, the sun is still emitting its UV rays.

Remember to apply the sunscreen every 2-3 hours when you are outdoor.

3. Not Applying Moisturiser During Summer

Most of us think that the skin needs moisturising only during winters when the skin gets dry. And that’s where we make the mistake. Just like we need our food throughout the year, in all seasons, the skin too needs it nutrition in all seasons, and also in summer. It’s just that during summers you should switch to a lighter moisturiser, making sure of its aloe vera content.

4. Not Knowing When To Apply Moisturiser

Not many know this, but the perfect time to apply moisturiser is right after you step out of the shower. That’s when your pores are open and absorb the nutrition from the moisturiser. Every time you step out of a shower, dab some moisturiser on your palms and get your skin in for a treat.

5. Scrubbing Your Skin Too Often

Because you feel using body scrubs or face scrubs daily will help you get a better skin. But it does the exact opposite. Firstly, it gives you wrinkles earlier than you expected, in the delicate areas, like under the eyes. It can also lead to blackheads and accumulation of dead cells in the pores. The ideal frequency of exfoliating your skin is 2-3 times a week.

6. Not Following The C-T-M Routine Daily

C-T-M is the routine to swear by every night before going to bed if you need a good skin. Cleansing-Toning-Moisturising is an absolute best friend if you want to wake up to a great looking skin in the morning!

7. Not Washing Your Pillowcases Frequently Enough

Did you know that dirty pillow case are the biggest reason your face doesn’t look good enough? Keep washing your pillow covers every week to make sure the dirt and grime don’t affect the glow of your skin!

8. Not Drinking Enough Water

You have been told this a hundred times or even more, but you tend to ignore it. Girls, when you don’t drink enough water, it dehydrates your system and in turn, takes your skin dry and flaky. Get enough water to retain the skin’s inherent moisture and glow.
